WALTON FIRS ACTIVITY CENTRE – CUSTOMER NOTICE FOR ALL CURRENT AND FUTURE BOOKINGS – 18 MARCH 2020 Update

 

COVID-19, CORONAVIRUS

 

Walton Firs remains fully open and will continue to operate as normal for all Groups who have booked accommodation over the next few weeks. We will be following developments on a daily basis and will immediately advise of any change in policy. At all times we will be guided by Public Health England and governments guidance to educational settings.

 

The well being of all our young visitors, Centre staff and volunteers is our absolute priority and we will be implementing steps to help protect visitors to site and our staff.  All our employees and volunteers are being made aware of the current requirements and are undertaking extreme measures of health and safety procedures in order to ensure that the highest possible hygiene standards are maintained throughout every aspect of the Centre's operation.  We will do our upmost to prevent the spread of the virus and would ask you kindly to assist us by reporting any instances of ill health amongst your group during your stay with us.

The following additional measures are being put into place immediately:

  • All accommodation buildings will be sanitised before groups arrive, we would ask you to take all reasonable precautions as outlined by the Department of Education and Public Health England during your stay.

  • As heavily advised, please ensure that your young group members are reminded to wash their hands frequently during the day and after any activity, additional signage has been placed in all areas to encourage them to do so.
  • The toilet and shower block and other communal facilities on site will be cleaned and disinfected frequently throughout the day.  Please assist by leaving these areas as clean and tidy as possible after use.
  • Instructed activities are currently suspended until at least the Easter weekend to avoid close contact between our staff and young visitors.
  • Non instructor lead activities will remain available for use, GPS trackers, bows and arrows etc.  All supplied equipment for these will be sanitised after every use.
  • On departure we would ask that you pay particular attention to binning and securely tying all rubbish including tissues etc. and place these in the large bins provided in the car park, please do not leave any rubbish in the accommodation.

 

We hope that this assists in reassuring you that we are taking all necessary precautions to ensure your health and safety and manage the risk whilst with us at Walton Firs and we will constantly monitor the situation.
